1. I don’t get a chance to film in candlelight very often, so I got some more footage before dinner.  This was fun, if only symbolic.
  2. We started a bit early.  The lights are still off.  I’ll get some more candlelit video.
  3. “On March 29, 2008 at 8 p.m., join millions of people around the world in making a statement about climate change by turning off your lights for Earth Hour, an event created by the World Wildlife Fund. Earth Hour was created by WWF in Sydney, Australia in 2007, and in one year has grown from an event in one city to a global movement. In 2008, millions of people, businesses, governments and civic organizations in nearly 200 cities around the globe will turn out for Earth Hour. More than 100 cities across North America will participate, including the US flagships–Atlanta, Chicago, Phoenix and San Francisco and Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. View cities involved around the world. We invite everyone throughout North America and around the world to turn off the lights for an hour starting at 8 p.m. (your own local time)–whether at home or at work, with friends and family or solo, in a big city or a small town. What will you do when the lights are off? We have lots of ideas.” (via Earth Hour US - Earth Hour 2008)
  4. Less than 2 hours away our time (Pacific).  We’re planning to turn the lights out, but I’ll be live blogging. lol
  5. omg

I haven’t tumbled for nearly 6 hrs. What’s up? We did our art unveiling cheese & bread & chocolate & wine & orange wedges & watching the kitties and touring the yard and the first painted walls. @Stardust’s new place!

And then Mrs. Random and I came home. I have redesigned my Blog of Randomness a bit, and added a tumblr tickr to the top. Check it out! Or maybe that’s where you came from. Welcome, then. And Robin replaced the fall/winter heavy green curtains with spring/summer light white curtains in the living room. She’s also been making LaunchPad dessert and other excellent puttery things downstairs while I play up here in the Chamber of Randomness.

Not going out tonight. Happy Birthday Party to all the Aries boys in Alpha Dahlia!

  8. So far today

The theme has been reblogging. Almost too easy to do w/tumblr. Endless.

I’m listening to an album on Jamendo right now. Fun, but who knows if I’ll even be back, this kind of thing is getting more and more ubiquitous on the web. I’m liking all the new music sites and the things they are trying to do to get beyond the dinosaur rules of the cystified recording/music industry.

How are ppl making money here? I think money must be recreated. Money comes from within! In order to free ourselves from rigid striations and segmentations that bind/imprison, we must reconfigure our relationship with what we consider the material world (including each other).

  13. good morning

Hey that was an awesome get-your-day-started-right post! We’re worried about terrorists with nuclear weapons, when internat’l gov’t scientists might be about to turn the earth into a “shrunken dead dense lump.” Have another cup of coffee.

Shout out to Exidor’s Trail, Mickey Fuchs’ tumblr. He’s my only active tumblr-followee or whatever the heck you calls it. I’m probably overwhelming his dashboard with posting diarrhea.

  14. "But Walter L. Wagner and Luis Sancho contend that scientists at the European Center for Nuclear Research, or CERN, have played down the chances that the collider could produce, among other horrors, a tiny black hole, which, they say, could eat the Earth. Or it could spit out something called a “strangelet” that would convert our planet to a shrunken dense dead lump of something called “strange matter.” Their suit also says CERN has failed to provide an environmental impact statement as required under the National Environmental Policy Act."
