Mad Happy is a hiphop duo from back east. I met them at The Downtown Lounge a couple or three years back. Trivia: when Rivka & Mike got married, Tina & Chris from Tom Tom Club/Talking Heads were in attendance. Rivka emailed me today with a link to this video from their appearance last week on an LA radio show called Demo Listen (KXLU 88.9 FM). They are accompanied by Mike’s laptop sounds, if they’re still doing it like they were when I saw them in Eugene.

Happy APRIL FIRST.

"The aim of painting has always been the deterritorialization of faces and landscapes, either by a reactivation of corporeality, or by a liberation of lines or colors, or both at the same time. There are many becomings-animal, becomings-woman, and becomings-child in painting."Deleuze & Guattari, A Thousand Plateaus, p. 301.

[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]Hercules and Love Affair - “Raise Me Up”
This album’s been getting MAD praise recently. It’s pretty easy to see why - old school disco/funk with modern day electro/house, coupled with excellent, soulful vocals (mostly provided by Antony) make for some pretty awesome ear candy. I’ve been kind of obsessed with this album recently, myself.

Archiving recent band practices from D888 to DVDRs, eating oatmeal/raisins/yogurt. I scissored space-money-in-progress from painted full sheets down to half sheets, ready for appl. of 2nd paint layer. It’s nearly 6:30, and I don’t know whether to walk or ride my bike. I’m thinking ride. But I’d rather walk. Hmm.
