1. Seems like things are going toward open-source mobile w/lots of net-based apps. Like $300 wireless subnotebook running Linux and using Google Apps online plus Google Gears for offline. Away from hard-drive and desktop based apps.

    In a way, things are headed back towards the mainframe+terminal model, except wireless.  Where the internet is the “mainframe computer” and your mobile internet device (laptop, media player, etc) is the “terminal”…a very smart terminal, but basically a terminal.
